NEW ORLEANS, LA – Wednesday evening at its annual conference and awards show in New Orleans, the American Association of Political Consultants named DSPolitical partner and Chief Operating Officer Christopher Massicotte to its annual “40 under 40” list of top political consultants under the age of 40 in the United States.

“I’m humbled by this recognition,” Massicotte confessed. “Working in politics is more than my job – it’s a calling that I find incredibly important and fulfilling. I didn’t get involved in politics thinking one day I’d win an award. I got involved to make a difference – I think we all do.”

According to the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC), the award recognizes “40 of the best and brightest young political professionals under 40 years old working in the United States.” The AAPC is “dedicated to fostering the next generation of political professionals and is proud to recognize leaders and innovators in the political business community (including political media, political advertising, polling and public affairs) who are making a mark in their organization and their profession.”

More about Christopher Massicotte

An accountant by trade, Christopher Massicotte found his way to politics when a class taught by Ed Rendell inspired him to volunteer on the former Philadelphia mayor’s first campaign for Governor. Professional accounting’s loss was professional politics’ gain as Massicotte never looked back.

In the years that followed, Christopher would become Director of Sales and Marketing for NGP VAN, helping the progressive powerhouse to achieve its near universal market share. In fact, because of the groundwork Massicotte helped to lay at NGP VAN, the company now counts every national party committee, nearly every state party, almost every Democrat in the U.S. Senate and U.S. House, and thousands of other candidates for offices ranging from Governor to State Legislature to City Council as clients.

Christopher is now a partner and Chief Operating Officer at DSPolitical, the nation’s leading voter targeted digital ad network for Democrats and progressives. In just a few short years, Massicotte has helped to build the company into a real force to be reckoned with on the left. Using the voter targeted digital ad techniques DSPolitical pioneered, the company has helped hundreds of Democratic campaigns and progressive causes reach the exact right voters they need to win – on their computers, Facebook timelines, mobile phone and tablets, and more with both banner ads and pre-roll video.

In what little spare time he has, Christopher is a committed advocate for LGBT equality. He has mentored, contributed to, and volunteered for dozens of openly-LGBT candidates for public office in his capacity as a campaign boardmember and former eastern caucus chair of the Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund. His work was recognized in 2014 when Netroots Nation – the largest annual gathering of progressives in the United States – invited him to deliver one of its IGNITE keynote speeches. His remarks (video) – discussing the progress made by LGBT Americans – were a hit with conference goers.

Christopher is a graduate of Villanova University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and The University of Pennsylvania with a master’s degree in government administration. He lives in Washington with his partner Drew Cannady, an attorney for the United States Secret Service.
