State Supreme Courts historically serve as a crucial safeguard against radical policies that seek to erode individual rights and liberties, such as reproductive rights and voting rights. This rings especially true in Pennsylvania, where the State Supreme Court has acted as the last bastion of defense in recent years. Since the 2020 elections, when the state’s mail-in voting system was disrupted and public challenges were made to the election’s results, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled on several controversial cases, underscoring its crucial function in maintaining the integrity of the democratic process.

During the 2023 election season, DSPolitical played a pivotal role in mobilizing voters for the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court race. In partnership with our client Stand Up America, a grassroots community that’s standing up to corruption and voter suppression, we pushed toward a Democratic win and maintained Pennsylvania’s State Supreme Court majority.

Pennsylvania State Supreme Court Race (2023)

Stand Up America wanted to test and utilize data to strategically engage voters, using DSPolitical’s resources to carry out these tests quickly and effectively. They leveraged our expertise to integrate pre-built, pre-randomized segments into Catalist for running Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs). Clients can use these randomized segments in conjunction with any other targeting, such as party preference, vote propensity, etc.

This innovative approach allows for the effortless segmentation of treatment and control groups, streamlining the operationalization process without the need for a dedicated data scientist. This enables people across the organization to actively engage in measurement activities, test new strategies, and reach crucial voters, all while avoiding wasted resources.

By leveraging pre-randomized media segments to simplify and democratize Randomized Controlled Trials, we have empowered campaigns beyond the Pennsylvania race, making RCTs more accessible to down-ballot campaigns. This ensures that even smaller campaigns can adopt sophisticated techniques to effectively reach and engage voters.
