Umamah Masum graduated from Lafayette College in 2021 with a degree in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Umamah has always been passionate about grassroots organizing and bringing marginalized communities to the center of advocacy. Since 2020, she has been actively working on campaigns in various roles, such as community outreach, digital marketing, and fundraising. While I was at the NYS Scarcella-Spanton’s office, she was able to connect with diverse communities around her home borough. This fueled her passion for grassroots organizing once again, and she hopes to use the skills she learns here at DSPolitical to further empower underserved communities around the country.
